Holiday Cottage in West Dorset


Post Office Cottage provides the quintessentially English chocolate box village home away from home for your relaxing break by the sea. You can embark on adventures galore, from watersports and fossil hunting on the Jurassic Coast, to hiking and exploring castles, forts and farms. Alternatively, for a more relaxed time, you can while away hours in the spacious living rooms, sunny patio and garden against a backdrop of horses walking and church bells in the distance.

Osmington and the local West Dorset area is a very special part of the world. Osmington is a very special village, with picture perfect thatched cottages, and the cottage is set down a quiet country lane. John Constable spent his honeymoon in the village.  The surrounding area boasts lots to do, come rain or shine, there’s something for everyone. The end of the lane turns into a bridleway and following provides breathtaking country and coastal views, over the famous white horse and across to neighbouring villages. It has a popular dairy with farm shop and cafe, boasting an impressive variety of ice creams, cream teas etc the ideal pause before continuing a walk to the coast or the ever popular Smuggler's Inn pub. The Jurassic Coast is down the road from the cottage, there are cliftop pubs, beaches, seaside attractions, forts, castles, museums and farm shops to keep even the most action packed busy for your stay.

Beautiful place in a lovely village. Great walks up to the White Horse, farm shop close by and a pub just round down the road. Kate was a great host and answered all of our questions quickly.

One of the top Airbnbs we stayed at, a dream home. We were not in a hurry to go outside even in fair weather, due to the nice ambiance. Also, Kate, the host, was very attentive and helpful. Definitely recommend
